Walkaround vol.4: Light Combat Vehicle X1
Subject: Light Combat Vehicle X1
Location: Museu do Comando Militar do Sul (South Military Command Museum).
Comments: In1970, the Brazilian Army still had hundreds of the M3 Stuart light tank that, by this time, was highy outdated. So, the army started a project to upgun and give better armor protection to these vehicles, creating the X1. They received a new 90mm gun, a.30 and .50 machine guns, a new engine (Scania DS 11, with 260hp), reinforced suspension, better hull armor and a new turret. The example bellow is in really nice condition and another turret is in exposition at the same museum to show the inside details.
